Allison Johnson

As a child, most of my memories are not at home, but rather in the car traveling to new places. I lived in six different cities by the time I finished high school, which made me really good at being the new kid. I since grew to love change, since that's where I felt comfortable.

I have a strong passion for art history and travel, and those passions have shaped my unique perspective on design. While studying interior design, I was fortunate enough to combine those two interests by spending a month studying Baroque Art History in Rome, Italy. The city's blend of respecting history and tradition while still prioritizing modernity deeply inspired me.

When I'm not designing corporate interiors, drawing, painting or taking photographs, I love spending time with my family: husband Elliot and our two rescue dogs, Brumby and Jupiter. I also enjoy playing classical pieces on my violin and exercising daily. One of my newer interests is cooking. I'm teaching myself new and old family recipes and attending cooking classes.

Achievement Unlocked!

In Spring 2020, I completed the ‘Healthier Materials and Sustainable Buildings’ course through Parson’s School of Design. This 4-course online learning program explains the relationship between building materials and the human body and how the choices we make as designers can change people’s lives.
